Cleaning your sink
Scratching can occur on a bright mirror finish by cleaners that contain hard abrasives, or even by “grit” in wash water or old cloths.
DO NOT use abrasive cleaners, Ordinary carbon steel brushes or steelwool as they may leave particles embedded on the surface which can lead to rusting and scratch marks.
A soft clean cloth or a clean sponge with washing up liquid and clean warm water should always be the first choice for mild stains, loose dirt and soils. A final rinse with clean water and a dry wipe will complete the process and eliminate the possibility of water stains. Glass cleaner applied with a soft clean rag will also eliminate water stains and the formation of scale caused by hard water drying on the surface. The build up of soap deposits and lime scale will prove difficult to remove and must be avoided.
Frequently, warm water, with or without a gentle detergent is sufficient. Next, in order are some mild non-scratching abrasive liquids such as typical household cleaners. These can be used with warm water, clean sponges, or clean cloths, once again rinse with clean water and wipe dry. Also vinegar with a damp clean cloth will dissolve little stains and remove limescale, and finally after cleaning cotton wool with a small amount of baby oil for a super finish. ALWAYS test your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.
